Homemade Jamz' Blues Band show at Uncle Bo's on July 9, 2010

I have been wanting to see the Homemade Jamz' Blues Band for a few years now.  In fact I have wanted to take Benjamin & Catalina to see them because the band members are all under 18 years old.  The drummer is Taya Perry, who is 11 years old.  Kyle Perry is 15 years old and plays bass guitar.  And big brother Ryan Perry is 17 years old and he sings and plays the guitar.  Their dad plays the harmonica but is very careful to hang in the shadows so that the focus is on his children.

This is not a novelty band because of the age of the members.  The band played some excellent blues and showed a real professional stage presence during the show.

So check out these photographs that I took of them at Uncle Bo's on July 9, 2010.

Editorial Review: The Homemade Jamz Blues Band rocked the Blues world by coming in second at the 2007 International Blues Challenge in Memphis-competing against 100 other bands.Since then, they have amazed B.B. King in person and numerous blues audiences around the United States. Their first CD, Pay Me No Mind, is poised to become the most talked about blues release in 2008. Already referred to in blues circles as the Holy Grail of new releases, Pay Me No Mind is just pure, terrific blues music.
